CompX is an American lock manufacturer that produces low to medium security lock cylinders, cam locks, and electronic locks. They are best known for the locks designed by companies they have purchased, such as the ACE tubular lock and the TuBAR cam lock.
History
In 1903, National Cabinet Lock was founded in Rockford, Illinois, eventually becoming CompX National. In 1998, CompX acquired Fort Lock, now branded CompX Fort. In 1999, CompX acquired Timberline Lock, now branded CompX Timberline. In 2000, Compx acquired Chicago Lock, now branded CompX Chicago. The parent company of these brands is now known as CompX International Inc. (NYSE:CIX).[1]
