carding, or the credit card technique, refers to a method of bypass in which the locksmith or locksportee uses a credit card to force the plunger back. Any flexible object of the right dimensions can be used to achieve this, locksmiths are partial to a sheet of super mica. This technique only works on doors in which the lock simply prevents the handle or doorknob from rotbtating.
