The EVVA DUAL (Dual Code System ) is a dual sidebar lock made by EVVA. The DUAL uses two sidebars, each controlled by six spring-biased sliders.

History

EVVA DUAL arrived on the market in 2000, and was replaced in 2009 by EVVA ICS.

Principles of Operation

The DUAL is a slider and sidebar lock. The two sidebars are controlled by a set of six spring-biased sliders. Sliders provide picking resistance in the form of false cuts.

Disassembly instructions

1. After taking the core retention clip off, insert the key and push the back of the core until it pops out a bit, then remove the key.

2. With the bible facing up, push on the back of the core while rotating it left and right. When the key retainer plate pops up, remove it and its 2 springs.

3. Now hold the core with the bible facing down. Keep pushing on the back of the core and moving it left and right. When you've pushed it out far enough to grab and keep rotating it back and forth from the front, do so and be sure to hold both sidebars on the sides in place while you keep removing the core.
