== History ==

ASSA was founded in 1881 by August Stenman of Eskilstuna, Sweden. In 1981, to celebrate the company's 100 year anniversary, the [[ASSA Twin 6000]] was released.

In 1994, ASSA became an independent company and merged with [[Abloy|Abloy Oy]] to form [[ASSA-Abloy]]. ASSA-Abloy is now one of the world's largest lock manufacturers.
