Illinois Lock Company and the Eberhard Manufacturing Company merged under the Eberhard brand name in 2020.

Illinois Lock Company was founded in 1930 in Chicago, Illinois and in 1935 the Duo© Lock Patent was issued to Illinois Lock Company (ILC). In 1960, they moved to their current headquarters in Wheeling, Illinois. In 1965 Illinois Lock Company was purchased by The Eastern Company, the parent company of the Eberhard Manufacturing Company. In the mid-2000s Illinois Lock acquired Royal Lock Corporation (2006) and Eagle Lock Corporation (2008).
