Opnus is a Japanese lock manufacturer.
History
Minemura Ironworks was founded in May of 1930 by Tomojiro Minemura, in Ogu-cho, Arakawa-ku, Tokyo. In August, 1948, Mitsumine Lock Mfg. Co., Ltd. was formed, with the capital of 200,000 yen, and began producing combination safe locks. The name of the company was changed to Sanpo Lock Co., Ltd. in June of 1961. The Opnus trademark was announced in March, 1997.
Sanpo introduced rekeyable high security door locks "Opnus MMX" and "Opnus TEX" in May, 2000. The Opnus Company, Ltd. was established in August 2003, with its headquarters in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo.[1]
