Abloy is a Finnish lock manufacturer that produces medium and high security padlocks, lock cylinders, and electronic locks. Abloy is one of the most well-known high-security lock manufacturers around the world. They are best known for their disc-detainer lock designs. Abloy products are widely used in padlocks, vending machines, and many high-security installations.
History
Abloy was founded in 1907 by Emil Henriksson of Helsinki, Finland. In the same year Henriksson designed the first disc-detainer lock. Industrial production of Abloy locks began in 1918. [1]
In 1994, Abloy was purchased by ASSA AB to form ASSA-Abloy.
